Tarot Logo Tania Pryputniewicz Cloaked Nested Figures in front of SunApproaching the tarot from a relaxed, inspirational point of view, we will explore what the images of the tarot have to teach us about ourselves and our relationship to our surroundings by writing our way through the elements. The term Minor Mentors is one used by tarot scholar Eileen Connolly when she discusses the minor arcana of the tarot. We will spend one week on each the four suits: Pentacles (earth), Swords (air), Wands (fire), and Cups (water), drawing on the teachings of a variety of published tarot scholars including Angeles Arrien, Rachel Polack, Mary K. Greer, Eileen Connolly, Vicki Noble, Eden Gray and others to ground our understanding of the four suits. Each week we will also look at excerpts from published writings inspired by the tarot including Judy Grahn’s Queen of Wands, Italo Calvino’s The Castle of Crossed Destinies, Charles Williams’ The Greater Trump as well as more recent published tarot poetry examples as we generate our own writing.

No prior knowledge of the tarot necessary; course runs March 17-April 28, and is a six week on-line course offered through Story Circle Network. Cost is $192 for SCN members and $240 for non-members.
